What Is the Soul, and Who Is It That Is Aware of It? | Non-Duality

Is there room for a soul in the non-dual teachings? In this profound and funny excerpt Adrian explains his understanding and experience of the 'soul'. When Adrian refers to the word 'soul' he usually speaks about what is called the 'causal body' in Advaita Vedanta. The ‘cause’ of our existence. The causal body of the universe is Ishvara or God.

The awareness in God and in the individual soul is still universal consciousness. God is borrowing his consciousness from consciousness, so to speak, and so does our soul.

Absolutely, of course, it is always the one universal non-dual reality, Consciousness, that is making the experiences. But is uses, and needs to use, agents to make the experience. Like to drink a cappuccino. And containers to organize it's infinite intelligence. Of course non of that is to be taken literally. This are just pointers to allow the mind to follow the ineffable.

The agents used by consciousness:
The physical body is a container, an agent, to make sensual experiences. It is a beautiful celebration if it is not loaded with personal identity.
The subtle body (the mind): to make subtle experiences (of energy, thought, feeling, dreams at night).
The causal body: it’s not our true identity either, but just another container! We may experience different times and spaces in our soul history in this moment, as Consciousness.
