Calculation Examples of Design Buckling Resistance Moment | Lateral Torsional Buckling | Eurocode 3

Two examples of calculating buckling resistance of steel beams.
• Example 1 from ‘Structural Elements Design Manual’ (Draycott & Bullman 2009):
Determine the design buckling resistance moment of an unrestrained 686 x 254 x 170kg/m UB segment in S275 steel with an effective length of 5.0m if the bending moment is constant along the segment and that the load is applied through the shear centre.

• Example 2 from Access Steel: Simply supported laterally unrestrained beam
• Examples using Tekla Tedds and MasterSeries MasterKey Steel Design
