A threesome featuring Nicola Walker, Stephen Mangan and Erin Doherty sounds like somebody's sexual fantasy. In fact, Mike Bartlett's new comedy is a challenging exploration of the nature of relationships, as part of wider look at the future of humankind. In the play, a middle-aged couple consider a relationship with a young woman to spark up their sex life, but it leads to something more profound, driven by the needs of the 'unicorn'. What was it like to hear three well-loved actors talking frankly about sex and threesomes? Paul Seven Lewis tells us why he found it funny and uplifting.
James Macdonald directs a production that puts acting centre stage, Miriam Buether has designed a clever set, Natasha Chivers lights it beautifully.
Unicorn can be seen at the Garrick Theatre until 26 April 2025.
