On the night of December 30, 2000, in the quiet neighborhood of Kamisoshigaya, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, the Miyazawa family—father Mikio, mother Yasuko, and their children Niina and Rei—were brutally murdered in their own home. The killer remained inside the house for hours afterward, using the family’s computer, consuming food, and leaving behind a wealth of forensic evidence, including fingerprints and DNA. Despite extensive investigations, the perpetrator has never been identified, making this one of Japan’s most baffling unsolved cases.
