I am sure you have heard of Oxford. 🙂

In this video, I’ll take you on a journey through the beautiful city of Oxford, England. I recently visited the UK for a one-week business trip to attend an international symposium at the University of Oxford.

By lucky coincidence, my visit happened during Oxford’s Open Days, which allowed me to tour several colleges of the Oxford university.
One of the highlights of my visit was the Oxford Martin School, located in the historic Old Indian Institute building. The Indian Institute was founded in 1883 by Sir Monier Monier-Williams to train candidates for the Indian Civil Service during British colonial times. The building itself, designed by the architect Basil Champneys, was completed in 1896. In 1968, the Indian Institute moved to a new location, and the building was used for various university purposes. In 2005, philanthropist James Martin donated £100 million to establish the Oxford Martin School, which now occupies this iconic building.
Another exciting part of my trip was visiting several famous filming locations from the Harry Potter movies. Oxford’s historic buildings and scenic courtyards have made it a popular choice for the films. Some of the most famous locations were the Bodleian Library, Christ Church College, and the Divinity School.

Overall, my time in Oxford was a perfect mixture of academic inspiration, history, and a touch of movie magic!
