A neigbour was throwing away an Ikea bedframe, too good an opportunity to miss, we bought it for £5 and decided to make a rock and roll bed.
Here's the link for the bed and mattress if you were to purchase them from IKEA.

Bed cost £130 new and the mattress £160. There is also a single bed option.
The Lycksele is actually a great base for a DIY rock and roll bed because:
It already folds flat and has a robust hinge system.
The frame is lightweight but sturdy enough for van or camper use.
IKEA sells both single and double versions, so you can adapt it to your space.
If you’re adapting it for a campervan:
You can keep the fold mechanism but replace the legs with bolted brackets so it’s fixed securely to the van floor.
You might want to modify the mattress — IKEA foam ones are comfy but can be cut into sections and re-covered to fit your layout.
Add storage underneath by lifting the seat platform or building a box frame around it.
Given IKEA’s prices:
Frame new: £130
Mattress new: £160
Your cost: £5 (plus elbow grease)
You’ve basically saved £285 — and that’s before any tweaks.
