As we came closer to the end of the Sri Lanka trip of 2023, me and my dad put in some more effort to catch some of the islands renowned fish species. We located a guide and headed towards Bolgoda lake in hopes of Mangrove Jack, Ox Eye Tarpon and the elusive Barramundi. Most of the day deemed to be pretty uneventful with only one missed hit from a Ox Eye Tarpon, little did we know we were going to be kept busy with consecutive takes from Mangrove Jacks that evening; making our venture worth while.
