This route is probably one of the most challenging test routes in King’s Lynn. On this route you will encounter all road types and a lot of meandering in town. Lots of speed limits to observe and crossings. Take note.
The driving test route begins at the King’s Lynn Driving Test Centre and sets off along Oldmedow Road and Scania Way. It continues onto Greenyard Way, leading up to the Jubilee Roundabout, which tests the driver’s initial road handling and roundabout navigation skills.
From the Jubilee Roundabout, the route follows Queen Elisabeth Way and proceeds onto Gayton Road. It then turns into Winston Churchill Drive, continues along William Booth Road, and loops back onto Winston Churchill Drive. This section requires the driver to manage residential streets, showcasing their control and decision-making in quieter community areas.
The journey then takes Queensway to Jermyn Road and Kent Road, reaching A1076 Gayton Road. It merges onto A148 Lynn Road and follows Gaywood Road, transitioning onto B1144 Tennyson Avenue. This part of the route challenges the learner with a combination of urban roads and traffic conditions, requiring careful attention to traffic flow and lane discipline.
After navigating Vancouver Avenue, the route arrives at the busy Southgate Roundabout. From there, it continues along Hardwick Road and returns to Scania Way. The test concludes back at the King’s Lynn Driving Test Centre via Oldmedow Road. This final segment tests the learner’s ability to handle high-traffic areas, maintain proper lane positioning, and demonstrate comprehensive route planning and navigation skills under test conditions.
