“My words are spirit and they are life” (Jn. 6:63). This statement by our Lord affirms our belief that His Word imparts real spiritual power that opens the door to eternal life for those who listen and live by them.
Since His “words will not pass away” (Lk. 21:33), then we need to ponder whose words do we live by — the word of the Lord that promises life, or the word of a passing world and imperfect people that yields death?
Saving Lord, speak Your word and bring us into new life. Let Your word cover our ‘dry bones’ with flesh that allows us to walk in this world, but live as citizens of Your eternal Kingdom. May Your word inform our minds, strengthen our hearts and energise our being. Amen.
