This hike along the Section J portion of the Pacific Crest Trail was is absolutely beautiful. I was a little worried at the beginning since it was pretty soaked in again with clouds and fog, but by the time I got above the tree line everything was starting to clear up. I may have even preferred the weather I did get, with clouds rolling through the valleys and mountains, than perfectly clear. Tahoma/Mt. Rainier was even visible in the morning. The trail was really well maintained, and just the right amount of difficulty. The elevation was gradual the whole way and was never particularly grueling. The Katwalk itself was pretty neat, and I tacked on a couple miles to/from Ridge Lake for a water view too. I really enjoyed this trail and will likely come back to it in the future.

Located in Snoqualmie Pass region.
Northwest Forest Pass is required for parking.
