MicroNugget: How to Troubleshoot FabricPath

In this video, Anthony Sequeira covers FabricPath, defines what it is, and then talks about some of the common issues with FabricPath and how to solve them. He also discusses the most important troubleshooting commands you should be aware of.

FabricPath is a fantastic new technology that allows for the elimination of spanning tree protocol within a particular data center.

It allows routing inside switched fabric so you can quickly move traffic over multiple links throughout the switched infrastructure without experiencing the convergence delay of spanning tree protocol.

Although this functionality is incredible, occasionally, things can go awry. Anthony will outline some of the most common issues you’ll see, then walk through several critical commands that can be used to resolve them.

For example, when you go to enable a feature and can’t, you’ll use the “show feature-set” command to ensure that the feature set for FabricPath functionality is installed and enabled.
