Slip Sinker Rig: the One "Must Know" Catfish Rig

The slip sinker rig is what many catfish anglers consider to be one of the best or essential catfish rigs for catching catfish. While the slip sinker rig is one of the most basic catfish rigs it's a very effective rig for catching catfish of all species and can be used in a variety of catfishing techniques.

This catfishing rig can be used for everything from drift fishing, controlled drifting, fishing on anchor and everything in between and will work for blue, channel and flathead catfish.

The slip sinker rig is similar to what bass anglers call a carolina rig and saltwater anglers often refer to this as a sliding sinker rig.

There are many options when it comes to setting up your fishing rod for catfish and many great catfish rigs to use in a variety of techniques and situations and even though this is a very basic catfish rig it will catch catfish and is very versatile.
