Did you know that somewhere in the North Pole lies a Global Seed Vault which works like a bank used to store millions of seed varieties that will enable mankind start life all over again if any disaster struck? In this documentary, Pennipher Sikainda-Nyirenda takes you on a journey into understanding how such a facility and others replicated at national and regional facilities level are working in order to safeguard food security. She highlights the Zambian Genebank as well as the regional model which is managed by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) housed within the national boundaries of Zambia. The documentary aired on the News in Depth programme on ZNBC TV1 on the 1st of August 2019.
