Brussels, Belgium surprised us in the very best ways! In this travel vlog, we spend an unforgettable day exploring one of Europe’s most fascinating cities — from iconic landmarks and historic cathedrals to indulgent food experiences and one completely unexpected adventure. If you’re planning a trip to Brussels or looking for unique things to do in Belgium, this video is packed with inspiration, travel tips, and real experiences.
We begin our day visiting the Atomium, one of Brussels’ most famous landmarks, originally built for the 1958 World Expo. We explore inside and out, enjoy panoramic views of the city, learn about its history, and even find a souvenir penny smasher. From there, we pass the European Parliament, a reminder that Brussels is truly the political heart of Europe.
Next, we visit Saint Michael and Saint Gudula Cathedral, taking in the stunning Gothic architecture, soaring ceilings, colorful stained glass, and newly excavated underground areas that reveal centuries of Brussels history.
But the biggest surprise of the day comes when we stumble upon Bath & Barley, a beer spa experience unlike anything we’ve ever done. In the world’s beer capital, we sample beer and chocolate pairings and actually soak in a beer bath — a first for both of us!
We continue wandering through the elegant Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert, tasting Belgian chocolates, admiring lace shops and waffles, and uncovering the meaning behind Brussels’ famous apple imagery inspired by surrealist artist René Magritte. One special highlight is meeting a local designer after finding the perfect Brussels souvenir.
We end our time in Belgium with a memorable final dinner at Ciao, a modern Italian restaurant located inside Le Merode, enjoying multiple beautifully paired courses and reflecting on an incredible journey.
