Drones have interesting applications all over the world. Being such a relatively new technology not all of the possible uses of drones have been fully explored. The common draw to design and implementation of aerial drones is the level configurability that can be engineered into a platform at a relatively low cost. The wireless communications industry does have some practical applications that provide excellent opportunities to implement aerial drone technology. With high quality GPS sensors and reliable microcontrollers, we can perform tasks such as flying point-to-point link paths and inspecting communications structures more easily and safer than compared to other current options. We have the opportunity to integrate a new and exciting technology to help us create a better wireless infrastructure at a lower cost and it is worthwhile to consider the application of the new technology in the communications field.
