In a video dedicated to World Children’s Day, the spouse of the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Ann Marie Davis, speaks about the Bahamian government’s initiative to support schoolchildren: the National School Breakfast Program.
Healthy and timely nutrition is essential for children’s harmonious development, and providing it is part of adults’ responsibilities, as outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Every child has the right to a safe and supportive environment — and without proper food, this is impossible.
Mrs Davis’s video is part of the communications campaign of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Global Platform, where participants from different countries share their favourite initiatives designed to improve children’s lives and help uphold their rights.
