In October of 1908, 12-year-old Edwin “Teddy” Haskell was found murdered in his bed in Salisbury, Wiltshire. His throat had been slit, and a bloodied knife was discovered at the foot of the stairs. His mother, Flora Fanny Haskell, claimed an unknown man fled the house after the attack, but inconsistencies in her account and bloodstains on her clothing led to her arrest. Despite two trials, Flora was acquitted due to insufficient evidence. The case remains unsolved.
