Due to the serious clinical risks posed by ABO incompatibilities, ABO typing and compatibility testing continue to be fundamental to pretransfusion screening and essential in pre-transplantation typing. It is recommended to use anticoagulated blood samples for ABO typing and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the reagents used.
