'The Levvy Taggers' Showgroup were a Barnsley based group in the Seventies and Eighties. The clubs were always packed to capacity when they were on. The group performed with a mixture of zany comedy and close barbers shop harmony.
This is digitised from a 8mm cine film. It was filmed at the Gilroyd Social Club in 1976.
Don Kirkaldy was the lead impressionist and singer. Tony Scott was on bass. Edwin Thorley was the pianist and Dave Cherry was the lead guitarist. The other members of the group were Jack Wherrit, Tony Thomas and Bill Brown.
