Finding the original price given the sale price and percent discount

In this video we are going to look at how you can find the original Cost (amount) when you know the Sale Price and the Percentage of discount. We will look at a common mistake people make when trying to calculate this. This video will show how we can set this up as an equation to solve and how this can actually lead to a shortcut way to solve.

There are many examples in this video. You can even pause the video and solve problems and then check how you did.

Even though this video focuses on finding the original price of a Sale item, the concepts work on any situation where there is a decrease. For example, the price of a stock went down or the temperature has decreased.
