This video compares four acoustic archtops from the 1940s. The models range from affordable "student" models to the top of the line guitars from the era. This is in response to a request to hear how the lower end guitars compare to the high end ones. All guitars are strung with Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 12-53. The recordings of each guitar were made back to back under the exact same conditions and mic placement. The signal chain is Lewitt LCT 440 large diagphragm condenser mic - Lewitt Connect 6 interface - iPhone 12 Pro.
