ISIP - International Students of Islamic Psychology hosted Dr. Osman Bakar on Sat. May. 7th, 2022. This is part of a five-part lecture series on “Islamic Psychology from the Ghazalian Perspective”. This is in collaboration with the Al-Ghazali Chair at ISTAC-IIUM. This was the first lecture. He spoke on, "Understanding Al-Ghazali's Psychology: A Synthesis of Perspectives." The session was in English, including engaging audience Questions and Answers.
Dr. Osman Bakar holds a doctorate in Islamic philosophy from Temple University, Philadelphia (USA). He is currently the Holder of Al-Ghazali Chair of Epistemology and Civilizational Studies and Renewal at ISTAC-IIUM (International Islamic University of Malaysia). He is Emeritus Professor in Philosophy of Science at University of Malaya. Dr. Bakar is the author and editor of 41 books and more than 300 articles on various aspects of Islamic thought and civilization, particularly Islamic science and philosophy in which he is a leading authority. He has been named among the 500 most influential Muslims in the world since 2009.
