🔨 Makin' a Spike Knife | Full Build with Clayton
What's up, everybody? Clayton from Burning Stables Forge here, and man, we've got a good one today.

You guys know the drill: we're taking a piece of junkyard steel railroad spike and turning it into a wicked little hand-forged knife. This isn't just a highlight reel; this is the whole process, start to finish. We're talking full, long-form video.

First, we get this bad boy glowing in the forge. You'll see how I hit the anvil to draw out that spike, shaping the blade profile right out of the bulk. Then, we hit that sweet spot—the twisted handle. It's the signature look, and I'll show you exactly how I get that twist just right without snapping the steel.

After the forging is done, we move over to the belt grinder. We'll clean up the flats, lay in those nice, clean edge bevels, and establish the geometry.
Finally, the fun part: making it pretty. We'll sand it, and put a screaming sharp edge on it. By the end of this video, you'll see a piece of scrap steel become a beautiful, fully functional custom knife.
