skate. Early Access Impressions: Has my mind changed?

Over a month ago, I made a video giving my thoughts on EA sponsored pre-alpha footage of skate. and I called it "soulless”.......let’s just say that the video got a lot of attention. Some of you asked if I was in the closed playtest. I said no… and technically that was true.

Now that the NDA has lifted, I can finally talk about it, and more importantly, actually play it.

This is my honest, unsponsored first impressions of skate. which is in closed Early Access until September 16th 2025 when the rest of the public can play it. I spent a few hours with the PC version of the game trying out challenges, exploring San Vansterdam, testing the trick system, and figuring out whether this thing has any soul after all.

Is the gameplay good? Is the city alive? Is it worth grinding for crates filled with socks and grip tape? Let's find out!
