Flow State of Mind with Acrylic Dutch Pouring

Many artists covet the Flow State of Mind when creating their artwork. For me it happens sometimes and not others. When I find myself in flow state I find that my hands are painting, but I'm not thinking about it. It's like there is nothing else in the room or the world. It's like my body knows exactly what needs to happen without me even thinking about it. The noise and business of the day are all shut out, and it is almost as if my painting is being controlled by something other than me. That's what happened when I started adding embellishments to this painting after allowing the initial dutch pour to dry.

When I was painting this #arylic #dutchpour painting, I was thinking a lot about my grandfather who passed away only 2 days after my son was born. Everyone tells me that my son reminds them of the males on my grandfather's side of the family. This painting made me think of the flow of families through time. There is always someone going and always someone coming in the quiet ebb and flow of life. I felt like this painting had too much "old life" and needed some "new life" to bring balance and harmony to the natural rhythm of its life.

The base paints are mixed with Olga's Group 2 recipe. The mauve color is a custom color that was made up with the following combination of colors:
🔴 Crimson red
⚪️ Titanium white
🟧 Vermillion Orange
🫑Perm Green Deep
💛 Primary Yellow
🧩 Yellowish Green

The other base color is white

The layered colors are
Amsterdam Pewter (group 2)
Pebeo Iridescent Blue Green (Group 1)
Liquitex Magenta + Pebeo Iridescent Blue Black (Group 1)\
