The onscreen marking initiative by the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) has helped to increase marking quality and efficiency. Unlike traditional pen-based marking, candidates’ hardcopy answer scripts are now digitised after the examinations and marked on a computer screen. Scripts no longer have to be moved and counted physically, enhancing security on script handling and reducing manual labour.
