Disney faces backlash, boycott threats over ABC's suspension of Jimmy Kimmel's show

Politicians, celebrities and others are encouraging Disney+ users to cancel their subscription after ABC, who is owned by The Walt Disney Company, suspended "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" indefinitely.

The veteran late-night comic, made several remarks about the reaction to conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination Monday and Tuesday night, saying in part “many in MAGA land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.”

President Donald Trump and his supporters praised ABC's decision, while others call it a suppression of free speech.

Tatiana Maslany, the actress who played the main character on Marvel's Disney+ exclusive series "She-Hulk" Attorney at Law," posted to her Instagram story Thursday, calling for people to respond to ABC's actions.

"Cancel your @Disneyplus @Hulu @ESPN subscriptions!" she wrote atop a behind-the-scenes photo of her in motion capture gear to play She-Hulk for the Disney+ show.

Marvel Entertainment, the company who creates all things Marvel — including the Marvel Cinematic Universe — and ESPN are also owned by The Walt Disney Company. Hulu is partially owned by Disney Entertainment Television and Disney+ subscribers can access Hulu content through their Disney app. '
