Here’s the perfect crispy and healthy Goan Fish Cutlet Recipe that helped Samaynta lose 27 Kgs without using potatoes, refined oils, or rava! This weight loss-friendly fish cutlet is made using coconut oil, loaded with first-class protein, and has ZERO junk!

✅ Ingredients:
For Boiling the Fish:

2 medium-sized Mackerel fish (cleaned & de-boned)
2 cups water
3–4 cloves (laung)
1 small cinnamon stick
6–8 black peppercorns
Salt to taste

For the Cutlet Mixture:

1 medium onion (finely chopped)
1 small tomato (grated or finely chopped)
2 green chilies (finely chopped – adjust as per taste)
2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp freshly chopped ginger-garlic
1 egg
1 tsp coconut vinegar
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
½ tsp garam masala
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp cumin powder
Salt to taste
1–2 tbsp water (to prevent burning while cooking masala)

For Frying:

1 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp virgin coconut oil (for healthy frying)

🥘 Step-by-Step Recipe:
Step 1: Boil the Fish
1. In a pot, add 2 cups water, cleaned mackerel fish, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, and salt.
2. Boil until the fish is fully cooked.
3. Remove from water, cool down, and carefully debone the fish. Set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Masala
1. In a clay pot or non-stick pan, heat 1 tbsp butter.
2. Add finely chopped ginger and garlic. Sauté until aromatic.
3. Add chopped onions and cook until translucent.
4. Add grated tomato and sauté well until soft.
5. Now add:
Turmeric powder
Red chili powder
Garam masala (just a pinch)
Coriander powder
Cumin powder
Salt to taste
6. Add 1–2 tbsp water to prevent masala from sticking or burning.
7. Cook until the masala turns aromatic and thick.
8. Add chopped coriander leaves for added flavor.

Step 3: Add the Fish
1. Add the deboned fish into the masala.
2. Mix well so the fish absorbs all the flavors.
3. Let the mixture cook for 2–3 minutes on low heat.
4. Add 1 beaten egg and 1 tsp coconut vinegar. Mix thoroughly.
5. Use clean hands (or gloves) to mix well and form a soft cutlet dough.
6. Check carefully to ensure no bones remain.

Step 4: Shape the Cutlets
1. Divide the mixture and shape it into small round or oval cutlets.
2. No rava or breadcrumbs needed – mixture holds shape naturally.

Step 5: Fry the Cutlets
1. Heat coconut oil in a pan on low-medium flame.
2. Gently place the cutlets in oil and shallow fry.
3. Cook on low flame for extra crispiness.
4. Flip carefully and fry until golden brown on both sides.

Step 6: Serve & Enjoy
1. Remove on a tissue-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
2. Serve hot with mint chutney or as-is.
3. These cutlets are super crispy, flavorful, and weight-loss friendly!
