Bulova Accutron 218 Disassembly Tutorial

Hi Guys, Well in this video I dive into the world of tuning fork watches, and more specifically the Bulova 218 movement. I discuss the movement in detail before showing step by step how I take it apart for cleaning and servicing. This is only my 3rd attempt at a Bulova 218 so I am very new to these but I do like to broaden my horizons within this hobby. I find these movements fascinating, their design, the way they hum and the way they work is so different to anything else I have encountered. The accuracy of these is incredible considering these were around before the quartz era. I do like the way they are mechanical with some unique and very clever way of creating a controlled vibration to act as a base for timekeeping and transferring that vibration into a train of wheels to drive a watch!
