On October 1st 2020, Samy Ibrahim visited ARCE’s office and met with ARCE’s Project Archives Specialist, Andreas Kostopoulos, and Project Assistant, Tessa Litecky, to share his views on the importance of preserving Jewish historical sites in Egypt. He also reflected on the work conducted by ARCE at the main Basatin Jewish cemetery in Cairo, a conservation project supported by the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, and the challenges encountered by the project’s team. Samy Ibrahim is a member of Egypt's Jewish community and the Executive Director of the Drop of Milk Association, an organization focused on protecting Egypt's Jewish heritage.
