Since I have never hiked this trail, I decided to travel north of Bonners Ferry to Brush Lake. The day is cloudy and dark, and the wind is cold. The trail is surrounded by thick bushes. As I hike, I get an uneasy feeling, so I head back to my car.
Ending a hike is not a failure. It is a lesson in trusting your gut.
The trail will still be there in the spring.
