It’s official Jujutsu Kaisen now has a sequel featuring Yuta’s grandkids, and in the next 15 minutes I’ll explain everything you need to know. To start things off, the name of this new series is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo and it takes place almost 70 years after the end of JJK. In this distant future Aliens with cursed energy have arrived on Earth, Japanese children are being kidnapped and people like Toji are now accepted by the Jujutsu World. This showed that Gojo did accomplish his dream of changing their society, but unfortunately, something else that changed is that future sorcerers are weak compared to the previous generation. If we dive in to the first chapter, Jujutsu Kaisen modulo begins in the year 2086, with this rectangular spaceship approaching Earth. Onboard this ship is a race known as the Simurians, who posses cursed techniques and a mysterious third eye. What’s interesting though is that on their ship is also someone, who looks exactly like Tengen. At first this was pretty surprising given that Tengen is meant to be dead but then I remembered this panel from chapter 145. In this panel Tengen explains that her appearance isn’t unique and that anyone would look like this if they’ve lived for 500 years. Because the Simurians are humanoids with cursed techniques, the most obvious explanation is that one of them is immortal and just evolved in the exact same way. when the aliens arrived they made contact with America believing that this was the strongest country. Surprisingly though America replied by telling the aliens to speak with Japan, who as we know have people with the same abilities. Before we continue one thing that’s worth pointing out is that there are close to 50,000 Simurians who travelled Earth and all of them are refugees. At this moment we have no idea what they’re running from, maybe their planet was destroyed or maybe they’re being hunted by other members of their kind, right now it’s anyone’s guess so feel free to leave any theories you might have in the comment section below. Now following all of this, the chapter flashes back 10 years to focus on a girl called Yuka Okkotsu. Not only is Yuka the grandchild of the real main character but it’s clear that the two of them had a very close relationship. At the age of 6 Yuta passed down this ring to his granddaughter, the same ring that was given to him by Rika. For years this cursed object is what he used to connect with Rika and access her power and he gave it to Yuka to protect her. In his words he wanted the ring to watch her over until she became a fully fledged sorcerer but sadly that didn’t happen. The reality is that years later when Yuka was 10, the ring was taken away from her by the Gojo clan. To explain why this happened, we need to know that after Gojo’s death in 2018, Yuta became the new head of the Gojo clan. Technically speaking his title was clan head representative but either way, he’s the one who had political control and also control of the clans treasure. Despite not being a Gojo himself it was confirmed a long time ago that they are distantly related to them and politically, I guess the Gojo’s preferred having the strongest living sorcerer over some random NPC. Now what’s important is that in the future Yuta was married to Maki and when she died he then started to get weaker. Around the year 2080 Yuta then died himself and once he was gone, the Gojo clan decided that thing ring should be given to someone else. That person was Yuka’s older brother Tsurugi who refused to give it back to his sister. The first chapter makes it clear that Tsrurugi wasn’t as close to his grandad as Yuka was and so for her, losing the ring was incredibly painful. From that day she then started training more intensely, to prove to everyone that she’s the only person worthy of having it.
