When the church started after the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Ghost, God added to the church daily such as should be saved (Acts 2:47). Those souls that were added to the church for salvation obtained that salvation, but they did not have the New Testament. All they had was the words of the apostles, and the Old Testament. The Old Testament contains precious treasures that are able to save the soul.
