On 8 November, SATS, an air cargo handler at Singapore Changi Airport, alerted NParks and the Airport Police Division of Singapore Police Force to a suspicious shipment en route to the Laos People’s Democratic Republic.
Upon inspection, 20 pieces of rhinoceros horns weighing 35.7 kg were discovered and seized. This is the largest-ever seizure of rhinoceros horns in Singapore, surpassing the previous record of 34.7 kg in 2022. Around 150 kg of other animal parts were also seized, and species identification is ongoing at NParks’ Centre for Wildlife Forensics.
