hello love :- )

this is the first vlog documenting the week I spent in Scotland, UK. The first 2 days, spent in Edinburgh.

DETAILS I took part in filming content for Contiki's "The Travel Project", for the six-two platform. It was an incredible experience meeting new people and working on this project, I can't wait for the content to be live at the end of July... :'-) as you know, I was so nervous coming up to the trip, never having done something like this.. but I made sure to enjoy it, do my best, and use it as a learning experience! And of course, without our community, I would have never had this trip. I am so grateful, for you being here, the supportive words that encouraged me, everything. Sending you my love.

& Just to explain a little more (incase the vlog was confusing), the premise of our Travel Project is to explore how young people have revived traditional music in Scotland. Travel Scotland made 2018 'the year of the young people', which is why we interviewed and filmed with musicians like neil, rudairidh, etc!

Everything I got to experience had another level of meaning for me, because my (step)dad is of Scottish heritage. I don't mention my dad often since he doesn't like being on video- but growing up, I learned lots about his Scottish heritage and about the culture. Of course, my understanding was very rudimentary. But everything I got to learn and experience meant so much, because I know it also means a lot to my dad. I am closer to him than my own biological father, and this opportunity to visit the country of his roots was priceless. I can't wait to go back to CA in 2 weeks and tell him all about it :-D !!! !!! !!!!!

Oh and also, regarding the Travel Project- you can submit your travel stories, photos/videos to www.contiki.com/thetravelproject to get published! Getting published means a chance of winning a 14-day trip w/ Contiki anywhere in the world. For those who love to write, story tell and travel- give it a go and something amazing might happen!

Getting back into the swing of things, now that I am back home. The horrendous allergies are slowly waning. and getting 8-10 hours of sleep really helps me feel better in terms of my chronic fatigue, too. Sleep is SO valuable, I can't stress that enough. I realized that we could either sleep longer, and live longer, or sleep less and shorten our life span. (except in option 2, I feel rough and have the temper of a raging bich) But not only that- it keeps us looking youthful! (i spent a week with Ginny, the producer of this project and she literally looks like she could be my age but she is turning 30!? i CRy. sleep is key :o)
