This introductory webinar focused on the concept of fatigue management through the exploration of the physiological base underlying the symptom of fatigue in lupus. During the presentation, occupational therapist Brenda Frie, MA, OTR/L describes the impact of lupus on fatigue levels, identifies treatable causes of secondary fatigue, and analyzes the evidence supporting fatigue management strategies.
About the Presenter:
Brenda Frie joined the Occupational Science/Occupational Therapy Department at St. Catherine University in 2007 after 24 years of clinical practice as an occupational therapist. She is an assistant professor in the Master of Arts Occupational Therapies program and is responsible for teaching clinical kinesiology, biomechanical concepts, research, and masters project courses. Her clinical background includes experience with adult rehabilitation, hand therapy, work hardening, and clinic administration and supervision. Brenda’s research interest is community-based educational programming for individuals living with chronic disease. She is currently involved in research to determine the effectiveness of fatigue management and physical activity programming for those living with lupus.
