Egyptian President el-Sisi mocked on social media after saying ‘we’re not in a real country’

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi addressed his nation in a televised speech about the economic hardships in his country and said “I didn’t find a (proper) country”.

The statement was the latest example in a series of comments made by el-Sisi where he criticised Egypt and sparked reactions on social media mocking the military rule in Egypt, established after elected President Mohammed Morsi was removed from power in 2013 through a coup.
