On September 29, 2025, Azad Kashmir is bracing for a major protest and shutdown call given by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). The core demand: abolishing the 12 reserved seats in the AJK Legislative Assembly for Kashmiri migrants living in Pakistan.
In response, the federal government has decided to deploy 2,000 Islamabad Police personnel to Muzaffarabad and other sensitive areas. This force includes one SSP, four SPs, eight DSPs, and sixteen Inspectors, along with constables.
Many observers believe that this decision could repeat the same mistake made in May 2024, when Pakistan Rangers were sent to AJK, worsening public anger. Now, with Islamabad Police being deployed, will this move stabilize the situation or trigger stronger backlash?
📌 In this video, we discuss:
• Why September 29 protest is happening in Azad Kashmir
• The role of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC)
• The controversy over 12 reserved seats for Kashmiri migrants
• Government strategy and police deployment
