University of Calgary Filipino Students’ Association Cultural Nite 28: Paruparo at Gamugamo

2025’s Cultural Nite production, Paruparo at Gamugamo, tells the story of Nadine and Kathryn—two girls who share the same face yet lead entirely different lives—as they dream of escaping into a world beyond their own. Standing beside them are James, a devoted guard torn between love and duty, and Alden, a prince who learns there is more to life than simply a title.

With a daring plan to switch places, Nadine and Kathryn step into each other’s realities, experiencing the lives they have longed for—only to discover that what they were searching for may have been within their reach all along.

Featuring Muslim Suite, which showcases Pangalay, Asik, and Singkil; Cariñosa and Aray from Maria Clara Suite; a twist of popular culture performed in Modern Suite; Ragragsakan, Idaw, and Bumayah in Igorot Suite; and Rural Suite, featuring Sayaw sa Bangko, Pandanggo sa Ilaw, and Tinikling—Paruparo at Gamugamo brings together the rich diversity of Filipino dance, music, tradition, and storytelling in one captivating production.
