One of South Korea's largest festivals, the Jinju Namgang Yudeung (Lantern) Festival is an enchanting two week event that takes place each year in October. Held within the walls of the Jinjuseong Fortress and floating atop the Jinju Namgang River, it honors those who battled through the sieges of Korea during the late 1500's.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of people attend the event to enjoy a spectacular display of lanterns, fireworks, performances, enjoy foods from around the world and pay respects to ancestors.
