Excel VBA Macro: Save File As with Password Protection (Step-by-Step Tutorial). In this video, we create a macro that saves the current, active workbook in a new location with a password. If you ever need to automatically save a workbook to a personal drive or shared drive that is encrypted with a password, with Excel VBA, you can use the code we write in this video to automatically save your file with encryption. The code specifies which location the file will be saved and then the password to you wish to use in order to encrypt your newly saved file. After we finish typing the code, we run the macro and follow through to make sure that the desired file is saved in the proper location with the intended password.
