Would you spend 8 year in a waiting room? Unfortunately, that is exactly the experience of many migraine paitients, before they recieve correct diagnosis and effective treatment.
Migraine is one of the most common neurological disorders. Yet it is underestimated and still insufficiently diagnosed and treated throughout Europe. Patients, who suffer from this condition, are consequently limited in their personal and professional lives, which has a secondary negative social and economic impact on them.
On Septtembe 13, 2022, patient organisation Migréna-help in cooperation with the European Migraine & Headache Alliance (EMHA) organised an expert seminar "Improving Access to Migraine Care in Czechia", under the auspices of MUDr. Roman Kraus, MBA, Chair of the Committee on Health of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
Panellists included:
• MUDr. Tomáš Nežádal, PhD., Chair of the Committee, Section for Diagnosis and Treatment of Headache at the Czech Neurological Society of J. E. Purkyně
• MUDr. Jolana Marková, FEAN, Director, Centre for Diagnosis and Treatment of Headache, Department of Neurology, 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Thomayer Hospital
• MUDr. Tomáš Doležal, PhD., Founder, Institute of Health Economics and Technology Assessment (iHETA)
• Mgr. Rýza Blažejovská, DiS., Founder and Chair, Migréna-help
• Elena Ruiz de la Torre, Executive Director, European Migraine & Headache Alliance (EMHA)
The seminar was held thanks to the gracious support of partners Teva Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, Abbvie, Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Sněmovní 7.
