Principles and demonstrations of preventive veterinary medicine (PVM) are presented with the aim to inform the participants of the role of preventive veterinary medicine in the health and wellbeing of animal populations and the society in general. Selected PVM measures for various age stages of animals including their products will be introduced. The role of PVM in biosecurity measures under the concept of one health for animal health, environmental working conditions, food safety and sustainability, and public health are explained.
