Chicari Camp is the very upgraded seasonal tented camp that used to be the Gorongosa Wild Camp. It is much more contemporary, with all the facilities that are required in modern safari camps including internet and a great menu and drink selection. Importantly the wildlife and bird viewing in Gorongosa remains excellent and staying at Chicari Camp you have the option of day and night game drives plus bush walks. At the right time of year, April to June, it would also be possible to go boating on Lake Urema as a way of exploring this vast park. Another excellent activity is being able to spend time with the team from the pangolin rehabilitation center in the park, as they take the rescued pangolins out to feed. A great experience to be close with these rarely seen creatures. This is a seasonal camp so opens in May and closes Mid November.
