TIP TYING OVER THE WIRES aka REMOTE TRIP RIGGING

This tree removal over the wires demonstrates the power of combining proper cutting and rigging techniques. The rigging was set up to keep the large top but heavy as the line lifted it towards the overhead block lowering point, while the cut was designed with a vbery narrow sloping face cut, to allow the top to stand up a few degrees before the face closed and the but slipped sideways off the cut, so that the entire process could happen while I was safely out of harm's way and well away from the moving piece and any potential danger.

I see a lot of tree videos showing needless and time wasting use of the GRCS to lift large limbs into a vertical position bfore going back and finishing the cut. When the GRCS is at the base of the tree, this puts both the ground crew and the climber in unnecessary danger. Here we simply use a porta-wrap shackled to the mini loader to be able to both lift and lower from a safe distance. It's faster, easier and requires less equipment (as long as the loader is already on site).

This was one of two trees in fairly tight spots. I was sowkign as a subcontractor. The contractor had out over 4,300 dollars on the job after another big name local company had turned the job down as they considered it too dangerous and risky. I had both trees on the ground in 3 hours...
