4K | Outdated or Nostalgic? China Airlines' Less than Pleasant Business Class Experience on A330-300

In this trip report, join us as we fly China Airlines Business Class (CI161) aboard the A330-300 from Seoul (ICN) to Taipei (TPE). Starting at Incheon Airport Terminal 2, we visit the KAL Prestige Class Lounge, a lively space with a decent food selection and a quiet relaxation area for those with longer layover.

Onboard the 10-year-old A330-300, the cabin feels outdated with early 2000s-era features and basic seat functions. Although reasonably comfortable for a short flight, this long-haul configuration would be less ideal for longer journeys. The low-resolution entertainment screen and limited selection further detract from the experience.

Despite a full three-course meal with fruit and tea, the service felt rushed. The crew, under significant pressure, delivered a less-than-pleasant experience. For short flights like this, a refresh of their meal offerings and service approach could improve the journey.

It's strange that CI did not have a Korean speaking crew in Business Class. That would've been the essential extra touch needed.

Overall, this is not an experience I would recommend.
