There are several tools used to stage the progression of dementia in a person. One was developed for research neurologists, another four-stage tool is for CTE dementia. There is a seven-stage tool for the FrontoTemporal Dementias and another seven-stage tool for the remaining dementias.
These tools allow professional and family caregivers to identify the progression of the disease in their loved one. It also prepares the family for the behaviors and declines that will occur as the disease progresses.
