Hey! How’s it going fellow Guitar Slingers? In this beginner rock soloing lesson I’m gonna be showing you 5 easy but killer sounding rock licks that you can take away and hopefully start implementing into your own playing.

I made a point of making sure these licks contain most of what I think to be the essential techniques for rock guitar soloing. Such techniques Include; bends, vibrato, slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, double stops and so on. So if you’re completely new to lead playing and improvising, hopefully this lesson will give you a good foundation to build upon.

Now, the point of these videos aren’t to just feed you a bunch of licks for you to take and just play exactly as they are. Obviously you can, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I want to encourage you to learn them and then start messing around and experimenting with them to create your own unique sounding licks. You never know, Each one of these licks could inspire ten new licks that you create yourself. And I think that’s the key to Increasing your overall vocabulary as a guitar player and ultimately finding your own voice on the Instrument.

Anyway, so all of these licks are based around a straight up rock track in the key of A. So for the majority of the licks we’re gonna be using the A minor pentatonic scale with a few notes from the major pentatonic thrown in here and there for extra flavour!
