This video elaborates how to do a traverse using a Topcon Total station. Procedure is same for the Sokkia total station as well. The video explains the way of measuring an angle in a traverse using double face method. Further it shows the way of recording the angle and calculating the reduce angle. Finally it explain the SHV function which let you find the distance between station and the targets. Therefore, I believe, this video will give you a complete lesson on angle and distance measurements.
