History
The band was formed by Nick Cash, guitarist for Ian Dury's pre-Blockheads band 'Kilburn And The High Roads' and his brother Guy Days in 1976.
With Nick on guitar and vocals and Guy on guitar they recruited skinhead Jon Watson on bass and Pablo LaBrittain on Drums.

They signed with United Artists Records in 1977 and had some success with several of their singles, especially 'Little Red Riding Hood'. Pablo LaBrittain was injured in a motor accident and while recuperating was replaced by Ed Case (Paul Edwards) in 1980. Ed Case played a major US tour with the band and appeared on third album 'The Biggest Prize In Sport' but LaBrittain was able.to return for 4th album 'Concrete'.

Bassist Jon Watson left the band in 1985 and the band kept a low profile until Arturo Bassick, early (and most well-known) bassist of The Lurkers - who in the 2000's toured with a version of the band as vocalist and bassist - joined 999 in 1991 as the musicians had got to know each other over the years.

Experienced drummer Stoo Meadows, who had played with Conflict, Resistance 77, English Dogs and The Lurkers joined on drums in 2018 after Pablo LaBrittain stepped down due to health issues and the band have continued to release albums and gig regularly including appearances at Rebellion Festival and others.
